Pub sandwich

Tuesday, June 9th, 2009 | Friends, Life

I think we have perfected Sunday nights.

It now starts at the pub, then we go for some food, then we go back to the pub.

It’s a winner 😀 . Actually it then involves even more food as afterwards you have to the KFC to pick up some ice cream as well but that just adds to the whole experience. You really can’t beat a final evening of food and drink before returning to work on Monday morning.

Unfortunately though our landlord turned up as I was walking out the door asking if we could clean the whole house by tomorrow as he had a potential tenant coming round to look at it which resulted in me having to do some cleaning when I got back. Luckily Michelle and Norm took care of most of it while I was out though so there wasn’t that much to do.

Deer Park

Thursday, June 4th, 2009 | Life

Having had to cut down on the time I’ve spent at the Deer Park recently it was a welcome return to make it there twice in two days, once on Sunday for Sunday lunch and again on Monday night.

After all, you have such a good excuse to go home via the Chinese once you have spent an evening there 😀 .

Deer Park

I’m starting to notice a pattern in which all my blog post titles turn into just a list of pubs 😀 .

Certainly many of the posts do but that is the way it should be really. On Monday I headed out to The Deer Park with Si as well as the housemates in tail (I like to throw them a pitty invite from time to time).

Luckily I made it there in time that they were still serving food. I had already eaten and all that which resulted in me having to get an ice cream sundae – which of course there is always room for. Good times.

The Podger

Thursday, May 21st, 2009 | Friends, Life

Having had a rather lazy weekend (for me anyway lol) I headed over to The Podger on Sunday night for a quick drink or two.

It turns out that pubs change quite a lot in a decade.

It probably hasn’t quite been a decade since I was last in there but I bet it isn’t far off. It’s quite nice in there, I managed to avoid any weird looks from wearing my A-Soc hoodie which is always nice. Throw in a few drinks and beating Craig at pool and what more can you ask for? 😀

Pub based planning

Sunday, April 26th, 2009 | Friends, Humanism

With the final Tuesday of the Easter holidays seeing the union closed, we headed off to The Library for the final RW planning meeting. In the end we got a rather good turnout, something like a dozen people or more eventually showed their face including the long awaited introduction of Zoltan’s girlfriend. She looks quite mature for a 15 year old.

Gascoigne

Monday, April 6th, 2009 | Friends, Life

Having done my open on Saturday I found that I had the evening off for once which made of a strange feeling. Nobody in the house really doing anything I headed out to meet Craig and Zoe for a few drinks at the Gascoigne in Garforth which is a pub I haven’t actually been in before.

It seemed a nice enough place, big with plenty of space and the drinks were reasonably priced at least for a pub in Garforth (which means they aren’t actually that reasonable of course 😉 ). It just being the three of us we weren’t out for too long but I did appreciate the novelty of being somewhere other than work on a Saturday night.

Sunday nights at The Mill

Tuesday, March 24th, 2009 | Friends, Life

Having arrived home on Sunday I headed straight back out the door again to meet everyone at Colton Mill for a few drinks. Our Sunday night activities seem to be getting later and later, it is something that we really should work on even if I do really need the time to get more work done.

Pubbage

Sunday, March 8th, 2009 | Life

Having nothing officially scheduled to do on Wednesday night (I had no appointments, just the usual stuff to catch up on) I was looking forward to an easy night and set off driving home from work. I almost made it as well. I had literally just pulled up outside my house when I got a phone call from Lil telling me to come to the pub.

So I headed down to The Terrace where Lil was off her face alright along with Oli, Fat Harriet and Norm. Nicola and Matt later joined us too so it turned into an alright night until Lil ruined it by spilling beer everywhere (tut, tut, tut 😀 ).

Old school eating

Tuesday, January 27th, 2009 | Life

Ah the days of being a student. 2 for 1 meals at the pub for lunch every day.

The Deer Park running such an offer during January we decided to head down yesterday to grab some dinner as you can’t beat Deer Park food for as cheap as it used to be at the student pubs. Good times.

Despite Si having headed off to the cinema with Ant and Tilly, it being the last Friday before Perspective kicks off, a night at the Deer Park was much in need. And so myself, Kate, Michelle and Greg headed down for some good old fashioned fun. The Ember Skewered Chicken comes highly recommended.
