Busy social calendar

Monday, March 13th, 2006 | Life

I’m quite pleased with the amount of events I have managed to slot into my social calendar for the next week. I need to keep my spirits up as we only have two weeks left before I have to go home again (if my immediate family ever read this I just want to let you know, I don’t find your company boring and depressing ;)). Seriously though, my problem is, living close to home I don’t get homesick but on the plus side I really love uni and don’t want to leave.

Anyway so yeah, it’s Monday. Tonight we’re having a home made pizza night at Sarann’s (presuming she gets back from Cumbria in time) and Graham is going down to Mine for the free jazz night so I might do that.

Tomorrow night is St. Patrick’s day so Grant House is having an all night rave-up as we’ve all put £7 in which should provide about £300’s worth of alcohol :D. Wednesday I have the film making society AGM and Oli has informed me there is a Battle of the Bands event on in Mine so I’ll probably go to that afterwards.

Thursday I appear to have free although I’m sure I can fix that. Friday I am going out for cocktails with Michelle and Fran and Saturday is Wendy House. So it’s going to be quite a busy week between that and doing like 4 pieces of coursework :D.

Spoilers!

Monday, March 13th, 2006 | Life

Dammit, I think I just saw a major DC spoiler! If so I will not be happy. But it might not have happened. I haven’t read anything else to support the claim. As long as I deny it then even if it does happen it will still be a suprise for me.

It’s too cold

Monday, March 13th, 2006 | Life

It’s way too cold. It’s because we’re too far north. It’s never this cold back home.

I’m going to restart my computer

Monday, March 13th, 2006 | Life

Wow, it’s been ages. My desktop has been on solidly for probably over a week or something now so I’m finally going to restart it because it’s finally started crashing on my ass. I would be getting some sleep right now but Firefox cancels you’re downloads if you exit making the whole being able to pause them thing fairly (although not completely) pointless.

It’s like snowing, a lot

Sunday, March 12th, 2006 | Life

And settling. There is lots of snow. Which pleases Michelle a lot as they don’t get snow in Jersey apparently. Meanwhile I’m sitting around thinking about how I should get my maths coursework started. Well that and my CS coursework, SY coursework, the list goes on.

I notice Python.org has a new look. They didn’t seem to have a news posting or announcement about it but a quick Google Blog Search revealed a post by The Farm confirming that Python.org had just recently re-vamped.

My stats are once against utterly messed up on the VPS, I could really use more servers to spread my sites accross but they aren’t generating the revenue as of yet. That and I’m hidiously short of money as a student.

Ah well, I have some Google Video uploading to do.

Steph tried to kill me

Saturday, March 11th, 2006 | Life

Ok, that is maybe a bit of an over exaduration. It was just too cold today. I got down to the union about 10:20. 20 minutes late isn’t bad considering I didn’t get to bed until 3:30. I set my alarm for 9 to get up but feel alseep again for another 40 minutes. I’m glad I did, I really needed those extra 40 minutes. I felt so much better after that.

We basically spent the whole of the day filming, we finished a little before 6. I then went round Headingley to find Simon and the rest of Grant House that were on the Otley Run for his birthday celebration. I eventually found them outside the New Inn (they gathered at 3, it was now 6 and they were in the third pub :p).

File size showing up as 0?

Saturday, March 11th, 2006 | Life

I can almost sleep! Just a few other video news update dealies to sort out and I can sleep. Hurrah!

Anyway so yes, if you’re doing file uploads in PHP and you’re file shows up as size 0 even though it clearly has a real size, it might be if the file is bigger than the maximum file size allowed for uploads. The default is 2mb.

The rumours are true

Saturday, March 11th, 2006 | Life

Ok consider this the start of a rumour that some new video news updates are in production…

Yes, the rumours are true! Some new video news updates are in production. Right now actually. Although I’ve just run out of tape space so I’m having to find a new tape. Well, I think I’ve found one so yet again I’m writing in the past tense of a step but I decided to blog while it rewinds.

I am supposed to be in uni for 10 tomorrow and at this rate I’m looking at getting to bed at 2 am so it’s going to be a bit of sleep deprivation I think. Indeed I will probably stay up and update my websites too so 6 hours of sleep is probably a best. That’s not that bad though I guess.

Then after that I’m Otley Running it so I have a pretty packed schedule tomorrow. Well two things. But two long things. Plus I have to get some MarioKart time in too :D.

Debating with Christians

Saturday, March 11th, 2006 | Life

It’s like banging your head against a brick wall. They take a stance against everything. I have some of what would be considered to be the wierdest views held within society and yet I seem to be arguing the more commonly held views.

Anyway, this is a bit random but cool…

Facebook fan club

There is a group on Facebook named the “Chris Worfolk Fan Club.” That’s pretty awesome although it will make it more difficult to prevent my ego from becoming over-inflated ;).

Google gets owned

Friday, March 10th, 2006 | Life

Well, sort of. I spent quite a while looking for an answer on Google which I couldn’t find. So I have Yahoo a go and the top result was far more relevant than anything Google had managed to produce.

Not that it answered my question, I’ve killed Linux and now I’m screwed. I really can’t be bothered with it though. Windows may be hidiously unstable but at least people know how to use it. It seems to be just Maths Chris that can get his head around Fedora.

I’m working on the Python project but we’re not getting anyway and are obviously not going to get it done in time. Ah well, I think I’m just going to go home and pretend everything is ok. It will work out somehow. I blame CherryPy, it doesn’t seem to do what it pretends to do at all, it just seems to run but when you try and access your result, even with the sample code, it clearly isn’t running.
