The flip side

Lil is a bad person

Sunday, April 4th, 2010 | Friends, Life

I just wanted to make that clear for the record because I don’t really feel enough has been said about it.

Last week myself, Oli, George and Lil headed out for a night out which ended when Lil got really drunk, decided to attack a group of guys and earned Oli a rather beat up eye for his trouble when he tried to calm things down.

Still, spoils of war and all that, at least I got myself a nice new hat.

Post birthday treats

Thursday, October 29th, 2009 | Friends, Life

On Thursday Oli paid me a visit with a number of suprises including a Lil and a late birthday present in the form of a box of wine 😀 . As my blog readerable is mainly sophisticated well educated individuals similar to myself it would almost seem patronising to remind you that such a produce is the finest type of wine as it can breathe when in a box rather than being stuffed up in a bottle.

This was followed by pizza which included extra for myself and Oli and Lil is trying to lose some weight plus the fun of watching a woman take out a bike just outside our house. The guy seemed alright which makes it ok to laugh about. Oli had to rush off in a hurry to catch a train shortly after which resulted in me not getting chance to grab a photo so I present instead one of the classic Chris and Oli pictures. Enjoy.

The new crowd

We hit Wendy House on Saturday night, while I was under the assumption that I was back up to full strength. With hindsight this was probably a mistake, but there you go. And by we, interestly I mean myself, Lil, Jonni and Tom which was a fresh, though none the less enjoyable, crowd to go with.

It was also interesting to see Tom get all judgemental about Kate Bush and yet rock out to Evanescence. Am I really getting that old that Evanescence somehow has some undeserved cult reputation with the youngsters? :S

09/09/09 Party

Thursday, September 10th, 2009 | Events, Friends, Life

By Wednesday evening Lil had been up for over 24 hours having worked nights on Tuesdays and then fueled herself up on Relentless. Or crack, it’s hard to tell the difference when someone the size of Lil drinks an entire can of Relentless. As we haven’t seen the can, or the crack, whichever one it actually was, I guess we’ll never know.

So the obvious thing to do in this situation was to head over to Nicola’s 09/09/09 party celebrating the fact it was the 9th of September 2009 – an idea she had only made up the night before while drunk at the A-Soc social and had just invited “very special friends” to despite the fact that there were over 70 people on the Facebook guest list.

Saturday night with Moogle and The No Man

Sunday, August 23rd, 2009 | Friends, Life

Given both myself and Norm had a rare Saturday off for various reasons, I headed over for a bit of food and a few beers on Saturday night.

It’s mental really, I moved to the city centre so I could walk home after drinking sessions and I end up having to go all the way out to Seacroft. Still nothing makes you feel better than getting on a bus and observing the type of people also using said service – it makes you feel so much better about your own life 😀 .

Unfortunately X-Factor has now started again but once we got that out of the way we had some really good discussions as we sat and drank long into the night. What a Saturday night should be really.

Silent Hill

Tuesday, July 7th, 2009 | Life

On getting back to Ingleton after the waterfall trail on Saturday we found ourselves in the middle of a 1940’s wartime recreation with everyone walking round in army uniforms or civilian period costumes.

Apparently the whole town gets involved – we wandered into a pub with lots of British flags and bunting lining it which I just presumed was a BNP rally but apparently that was part of the “recreation” too.

Myself and Lil debated at some length whether we were dead Silent Hill style or whether we had travelled back in time, or indeed even just accidentally wandered onto a holodeck. Namely because the 1940’s day had clearly been going on for some time and apparently wasn’t finishing that day either (it was all still there when we went past on the Sunday too).

Pubbage

Sunday, March 8th, 2009 | Life

Having nothing officially scheduled to do on Wednesday night (I had no appointments, just the usual stuff to catch up on) I was looking forward to an easy night and set off driving home from work. I almost made it as well. I had literally just pulled up outside my house when I got a phone call from Lil telling me to come to the pub.

So I headed down to The Terrace where Lil was off her face alright along with Oli, Fat Harriet and Norm. Nicola and Matt later joined us too so it turned into an alright night until Lil ruined it by spilling beer everywhere (tut, tut, tut 😀 ).

A bragger’s tale

Thursday, January 15th, 2009 | Life

I introduced a new regular segment into the podcast tonight entitled “a bragger’s tall”, hence the title. Basically I will make a claim, for example “I caught a fish that was a foot long” and the guests then have to brag about far more exciting, lavish and over the top stories to better my tale. Overall it went rather well.

The point is that podcasting is well and truely rolling again. And this time we finally remembered to take some pictures even if we did only get them of myself and Lil.
