Ribs
For my dad’s birthday we went to Cattle Grid in Leeds. We had ribs.

With Fonze getting another year older earlier this month, we planned a three part celebration.
First, I made him to go flag football training. What more could you ask for on your birthday? Actually, he wanted to come, but it all worked out for everyone 😀 . For lunch, we went to his parents. His mum does a good Sunday lunch.
Finally, we finished up going to Chaophraya for dinner. I had wanted to go to Saengarun but unfortunately it had closed down. The advantage of Chaophraya though is that you can order the birthday cake where they come with the drums and all the staff sing happy birthday. Despite his accusatory and threatening tone, I think that was his favourite part of the day.
In celebration of GabrielÄ—’s birthday we headed down to one of the best Chinese restaurants in Leeds – Red Chilli. Most of us settled on the Courtship menu that came with three starters – soup, a platter then shredded duck – followed by a main course of many dishes.
Elina opted for the baby octopus and it was exactly as it sounds – lots of little baby octopuses.
We also got GabrielÄ— a “everything tastes better with cat hair in it” mug on a count of her being a crazy cat lady.
Earlier this month we held the elections for White Rose Speakers. Erik was elected president, Jane will be taking over from me as Vice President of Education, I’ll be moving to Vice President of Public Relations, Tony will be remaining as Sargent At Arms and Michael will be remaining as Treasurer. Kartik and Sam will be joining the committee as Vice President of Membership and Secretary. Congratulations to everyone who was elected!
We also celebrated our District Governor Anthony’s birthday with some cake.
At my birthday meal, we managed to eat our way through £557.54 worth of meat :D.
Today marks the first anniversary of my 25th birthday. Thanks to the spread bet I placed, that means £100 in my pocket, and an additional £100 for each year after that I survive.
Viv held her birthday party at Blackhouse, and despite having our photography course, we finally made it down there at 9:30 – still in time to order some steak! We both had the posh surf and turf, which was great, but I wish I had ordered a proper steak with hindsight.
You would think that having come from a photography course I would be able to take a good photo. But you would be wrong.
Due to Freshers’ Week, Wendy House was moved to a week earlier – which means Wendy House sooner, but then of course a huge gap between this one and October’s. It also should have landed bang on Norm’s birthday, but ended up seven days earlier – inconsiderate.
Never the less, we took quite a good crowd there – we booked taxis for 19 people and despite still not drinking, I made it to a very respectable 2am before heading home.
