Sites selling out isn’t cool

Sites selling out to big corporations isn’t cool. MySpace is the classic example, they have all Fox’s money but the still is still so hidiously unreliable that it’s just a bad joke. If you’re going to sell out fine but at least use the money brought in to make it worthwhile.
My next example is iStockPhoto. I’m finding the site quite slow and unreliable at the moment so I went onto Google Blog Search so see if any other bloggers had been having problems. What I found were several posts about them selling out to Getty Images for $50 million.
Maybe I just caught the site at a bad time so I’m not going to judge too quickly but I think I’ll be checking back later.
