This is not good. I left Phil’s early so I could get to sleep at a decent time and I now find that a) it’s past 1am and b) I’ve over-run the amount of time I was going to spend here by so long that the album I set playing has now finished. I plan on getting up at 8:20 tomorrow, I might set my alarm for 8:00 so I can spend 20 minutes thinking about getting up.
Anyway, went into DEC-10 today to do some C, Michelle was in there finally making a start on her coursework. We decided to go to the Quilted Llama and so met Phil there (everyone else was being a big geek and doing C coding). Given that we were low on numbers we ended up going to McDonalds for some food and then going back to Phil’s to drink and play cards. It was a cool night but I wanted to get a decent amount of sleep so I left about 11:15. Missed the 95 which came past 7 minutes early! It didn’t say Bodington Hall on it either so it was going past by the time I realised this mysterious bus was actually the 11:31 95 even though it was coming past at 11:24. So I ended up getting the 28 home.
Oh one more thing about tonight’s activities, Phil came up with the intriguing theory that Wendy House on Saturday could be the first of the double parter with the second being the aftermath in the few days before everyone goes home. Well Wendy House is really the climax of the events, I’m not going to rule out such a scenario as it doesn’t have to end on the climax, I don’t think all the seasons of DC did.
Once I reached here I decided to do a bit of work on Particle Wiki as we’re releasing a new version of most of the Particle Soft scripts to close security holes. I decided to go as far as writing a captcha for it in a continued effort to curb spam. Though I’m not big on the idea of doing that for a wiki so I think it will be disabled by default and let users enable it as they wish. It will be on the official demo no doubt.
Today has been an interesting day for script development though as we released new versions of two of our products, both for security reasons. It’s the first time Particle Soft has ever been prompted to make a new release because of security (we’ve had a few issues in the past but none of them prompted a new release, they were just added to the next release with all the exciting new features). It’s not like it’s something I didn’t expect though as it was bound to happen eventually, I suppose it just means people are actually using the script if people are hacking it and publishing security alerts about it.
