Friday night live

Saturday, October 24th, 2009 | Life

On Friday the long awaited launch at work occurred as we took our first live bet from Belgium, albeit a test one. From here on in we’re trading so if you happen to find yourself in Belgium, near a newsagents and get a sudden craving to place a sports bet, you’re in luck. You can also see our website.

In celebration, we opened the first (presumably annual) Buzz keepie uppie tournament which Jason was victorious over with 17 and after some champagne and generous gifts from Rob we headed over to The Original Oak to celebrate.

Pub lunching

Saturday, October 17th, 2009 | Life

As Paul in our office had a rather big birthday coming up (I won’t mention which one), we decided to head over to the pub on Thursday for a bit of lunch and a drink to celebrate. As such I really couldn’t say no so took a day off from cutting back on my spending.

In the end though Rob put the company card behind the bar so it didn’t actually cost me anything – therefore when it came to Friday and everyone was still up for the usual Friday lunch at the pub, I had effectively saved a pub lunch’s worth of money so technically I wasn’t spending any more than I would have 😀 . Good times.

Long lunches

Saturday, August 1st, 2009 | Life

Went to The Original Oak for lunch on Friday as usual. But unlike normal, we never came back 😀 .

First off it was a bit of a celebration as Imran is heading off to Egypt today to get married (to a woman he has met before – once 😉 ) to we sent him on his way with a rather nice gift, some champagne flutes that Holly had picked up for him despite the fact he doesn’t drink 😀 .

Secondly, Stu who manages BetOptions which is the Australian office of our company was over on a flying visit so it ended up with almost the entire office heading out to the pub. Our food was a bit delayed too so by the time we had finished eating Rob told us we could take the afternoon off. Fantastic!

So long, farewell

Thursday, July 23rd, 2009 | Friends

On Tuesday night we said goodbye to Aidan at BuzzBet. As such we headed down to The Box for a few drinks before heading over to The Original Oak for some food. Going for something a little different I went for the ultimate chicken burger which I can highly recommend.

While I’ve only been at BuzzBet a month, it will be sad to see Aidan go as he was always a good laugh in the office. No doubt our paths will cross ways in the future though.

The Original Oak

Wednesday, July 8th, 2009 | Friends, Life, Reviews

After doing some good for the community we decided to head to The Original Oak to do some good for ourselves – by taking advantage of grill night. While you were never going to get an amazing mixed grill for £6 including a drink it was never the less more than enough to fill me and indeed very good food given the price.
