Back in halls

Moved into Ellersle today. Was quite a quick move. I did about 30 minutes packing on Friday before work but nothing really until I got up at 9am this morning. Including time for lunch we were off at 1:30 which wasn’t too bad and it took no time to move it all into my room given I’m only on the first floor (compared to the third at Bodington) and I also had my mum helping us (as well as my dad who always gives me a hand).

The room is good, it’s so much bigger than my Bodington one. I have loads of spare floor space, I really do need to invest in some bean bag furniture. And this is including the recently added double bed. Plus we have a full kitchen including a cooker with a shove although so we should if we only get catered meals during term time. I also have a nice view over Lyddon Terrace and two beautiful large windows.

I have yet to explore everywhere though the showers seem ok and the common room looks good. The ones at Bodingon were quite plain and well, wrecked. We have a grand piano and sofas and everything in our common room though which is great. It’s not massive but then there are only 120 of us. On saying that, there were only 70 of us sharing the Grant House common room which was probably bigger than the one we have here.

They seem to have things sorted here. I have a chair that has just been re-covered, the carpet is new and as I’ve already mentioned, they recently replaced the single bed with the double (I first looked round here on Thursday or something when it still had the single so they must have done it like yesterday or something). The walls are like a light greenish colour though, I loved my walls at Bodington because they were white which is ideal as a background for filming news updates, video blogs, etc.

The real pay off will of course be tonight. I am going to the Wendy House and will be able to walk back in like 2 minutes which will be ace. Or maybe we will go back to someone’s room and I don’t have to worry what time my last bus is as I can stay there till anytime and just walk home.
