Table Topics
Sunday, October 20th, 2013 | Life
Having taken on the role of Table Topics Master at last Thursday’s meeting of Leeds City Toastmasters, I got the chance to use my new TableTopics box. This is a cube full of conversation starter cards – take a look here. Most of them turned out to be really good topics and made for a very lively session.

Leeds Business Week
Wednesday, October 2nd, 2013 | Life
As part of Leeds Business Week, the Leeds Toastmasters clubs came together to put on an event “Pitch Perfect”. It turned out to be a huge success with positive feedback from many of our participants and lots of interests in the clubs. Congratulations to Pierre and everyone else involved in bringing it together.

It’s a Knockout
Wednesday, September 25th, 2013 | Life
Remember It’s a Knockout? I don’t, because even at 26 I’m too young. But basically, Total Wipeout is a total rip off of it, so think that. Except that it started in the 60s, so there was no PC filter of the very offensive comments that the host makes.
Turns out though that you an hire them to turn up and do a corporate events days.

Chocolate
Tuesday, July 16th, 2013 | Life
Recently, we’ve been having a chocolate off. Having gathered samples from Bon Bon’s, Hotel Chocolat and Charbonnel & Walker, we then set about the arduous task of trying to discern which one was the best.
Unfortunately, after extensive tasting and testing, the results have come back inconclusive. More research will be required before we can announce our findings.

Leeds City 2013/2014 Elections
Wednesday, June 26th, 2013 | Life
Earlier this month, Leeds City Toastmasters held their 2013/2014 officer elections. I’m proud to say I was elected as president and am joined by Josh (vice president of education), Chanaka (vice president of membership), Pierre (vice president of public relations), Glynn (secretary), Phil (treasurer), Matt (sergeant at arms) and Jude (immediate past president).
I’m sure with such a strong committee, we’ll be in for a superb year!
