Tonight’s events

January 15th, 2006 | Life

I just got back and my hall is just dead. The common room was empty and I’ve hardly seen anyone. I guess they could be at Bod Bar but I doubt it with it being Sunday night.

I spent tonight at the Sheepish Social which is like a goth night. I was a little disappointed as it was too goth for me, I was hoping with it being Sunday and people having work in the morning it would be more student than goth but it wasn’t.

Had a good long chat with Michelle though, she has had some really wacky adventures of which a large percentage involve fire.

The O.C. series 3 baby

January 15th, 2006 | Life

Oh yeah! The O.C. is back for series 3 baby. I’ve just watched the first episode on Channel 4 though if you were foolish enough to miss it, it will be shown again tonight at 6 on E4. It was a pretty solid episode, I’m fired up and screaming again. And with the sixth series of DC coming out soon, teen drama is back to dominating myself I think.

Bar Phono closed down

January 14th, 2006 | Life

When did this happen? That’s not cool. I was going to suggest we headed there and went to the website to check out what they had on and was greated a message of “oh, yeah we closed.” I managed to track down an annoucement on Sheepish.net…

Bar Phono will formally cease trading on the 30th December 2005, which means that tomorrow night (Thursday 22nd December 2005) will be the last night the club will be open.

The reason the club is closing is simple: the eight year lease on the premises expires on the 30th and the Merrion Centre have chosen not to renew it, as they no longer wish the unit to be used as licenced premises (in other words, what we know as the Phono will not be reopening as another club, bar, restaurant etc etc in the future). This was formally communicated to the leaseholder today.

I can’t stop with the blogs

January 14th, 2006 | Life

I think I’m developing a blog problem. I have managed to curb my domain problem to some degree but the blogs thing is really getting out of hand. I’m launching a new one every few days. I don’t even know what they are about anymore!

The latest one I’ve added to my list is If That Is Your Real Name, I mean, what the hell is it about?

What I really need is to get a blogroll going on some of my blogs with other people I know that have similar blogs.

My Documents

January 14th, 2006 | Life

I can no longer back My Documents up on one DVD :p. There’s 166,000 files in there totalling about 4.8 Gb. It could use a clean out but do you realise how long that would take? I can’t waste that kind of time.

Somone’s been smoking weed

January 14th, 2006 | Life

Just got back from Star, it’s been the first time I’ve been out (well third, went to Bod Bar twice and I guess I’ve only been here 6 nights one of which was a Sunday byst still) since getting back to Bod due to exams and everything. Of which mine start on Monday.

Anyway, we arrived back on the top corridor to find it stinking of weed. I mean, I know it generates quite a smell but it takes more than a few joints so generate that kind of smell, they must have been smoking all night.

More WordPress themes

January 13th, 2006 | Life

I raided Alex King’s sites for more themes I like, found these…

Although I’m not sure if these are as cool as the others, especially the first few, I could actually see myself using them.

What old people do for fun

Google Video marketplace is BS

January 13th, 2006 | Life

Google have unveiled their marketplace for Google Video in which you can buy TV show episodes including CSI, Star Trek Voyager and a load of other shows. But guess what – access it from the UK, or presumably anywhere outside the US, maybe Canada and it says this content is not available to you. It’s complete BS.

Feed Burner

January 13th, 2006 | Life

I’m running a trial with Feed Burner at the moment. Not as in a free-trial dealie, just as in an experiment to see what happens. I’ve added the RSS feed from Angelina Jolie Planet to it just to see what happens.

What the site does, or at least one of the things it does is turn it into a more readable page and provides subscription buttons for services like My Yahoo, Newsgator, Pluck, etc. You can find the page it created for AJP here.
