So today I finally started my Chrismukka shopping. Seriously, I hadn’t bought anything until today. Some would call it leaving it a bit late. But I got discounts on my gift tags because it’s so hidiously late so I was quite pleased. And I managed to get everything bought too. I just need to wrap everything and such and I’m all sorted.
I don’t really want to know how much money I have spent today – I also picked up and paid for a t-shirt and adding a few snacks and lunch on top of that it’s a lot. Most of it was paid using invisible plastic money which is all good but I’ve also spent most of my £20 as well :o. Still, it had to be done. I got a 10% discount at Virgin as well for being a mooching student. They gave me a little card dealie so I can get a 10% discount on everything other than like airtime top-ups (not that I’m with Virgin anymore) and gift vouchers.
A personal injury person approached me down near the market as well. She seemed suprised when I said I hadn’t been to A&E or had a car crash in the past few years. I tried to explain to her that I was invulnerable and so could not be harmed or hurt in any way but she didn’t seem to click.
So how is everyone else’s Chrismukka holiday (and I use the term “holiday” in the loosest possible sense) going? I wouldn’t know because nobody else is blogging. Get it together hippies. Phil is managing it and he doesn’t even have an internet connection so the rest of you have no excuse.

So I did a close at work on Sunday. Then on Monday I was doing a 3-11. However work wanted me to stay on so I ended up doing a 3-close. Long shift. I’ve never started that early before but we got out soon after 1 (it was a very good close) so it was actually shoter than some shifts I’ve done (my longest is 12 hours or so, maybe a bit longer).
Then afterwards we went back to Amanda’s. Well I say went back, we were never there in the first place and she wasn’t actually on the close. So maybe went would be a better term. Not sure why, but anyway yeah, we went to Amanda’s. She has a really nice house especially given she is living there on her own at the moment. We ended up watching movies all night (well, we didn’t get there till like gone 2 but whatever). Malibu’s Most Wanted and The Fast and the Furious, both cool movies.
Now I have a close tonight. The fun never stops huh? I really need to get my Christmas shopping started.

I logged on to my blog to post today to find I got some error about my database.
WordPress database error: [Can’t open file: ‘blog_comments.MYI’ (errno: 144)]
SELECT COUNT(*) FROM blog_comments WHERE comment_approved = ‘0’
Corrupt table but I couldn’t go into phpMyAdmin to repair it and it errored out. So I had to go in to the command line and repair it that way.
mysql -u dbuname -h dbhost -p dbname;
repair table blog_comments;
Which sorted it and I could finally log in. To find 148 comments had got past Akismet in the past few days. Awesome.

So tonight was Wendy House. I started the day with a day shift which was quite busy, I spent most of it running round getting stock out. I was glad when it was over. Headed back to uni afterwards for Wendy. I went in around 11:30 and spent some quality time standing around until I finally found Sophie and Verity about 12:30-12:45ish.
I had a really good night in the end the playlist was excellent this month – they played Self Esteem by Offspring as well as Muse, Green Day, Evanescene, Britney, Bloodhound Gang, Electric Six and loads of other random stuff that I liked. So yeah, in conclusion, awesome Wendy. I really enjoy hanging out with Sophie and Verity and my love for Wendy has been renewed.

Ok so Chuck Norris can do anything right? There is nothing he can’t do. That’s assumption one.
Assumption two, when Chuck Norris does a push-up, he doesn’t push himself up, he pushes the world down.
However this causes a conflict as the dictionary definition of a push-up is “pushes the body up” [1] therefore Chuck technically isn’t doing a push-up as he isn’t pushing the body up. But the idea that he therefore can’t actually do a push-up contradicts assumption one.
Hmmm.

Let’s clarify a few points…
- All the information on this blog is utterly and completely 100% accurate and I make every claim to it’s validity
- All references to real people either living or dead is completely intentional
- The opinions expressed here strongly represent my employer, my university, my university union, all employees of said organisations, WordPress, my web host, my domain registrar, my friends, my relatives, any company of which I have ever purchased products from or had any kind of dealings with and of course, you
- Any comments posted by users are clearly under the direction of myself and therefore also represent the opinions of all of the above
- Should any legal problems arise you agree to submit to the jurisdiction of the Court of Chris in which I am judge, jury and prosecution (if needed) and agree that the cout’s decision will be final
Did I miss anything?
Seriously, come on, let’s not be retards here. When people are having to post disclaimers like this it just shows how silly the whole situation is. I mean how could my blog ever been seen as the opinion of my university. How can an organisation even have an opinion? It can have a policy set by people with opinions but it can’t have an opinion in itself.
To be clear, the above is not true and is in no way a disclaimer for this blog. Anyone who takes it as such is concenting to being grinded into a thin paste, being packed up and sold animal feed on eBay.

Well it’s not as the Coca Cola adverts haven’t been on but then again I think we maybe need to accept that they are not coming – we might have to celebrate Chrismukka without them. Still, I think I’ll live providing that the traditional values of giving multinational lots of your hard earned money to see short lived smiles on other people’s faces are upheld. Can’t wait until I’m the multinational.
Anyway let’s recap what has happened of recent. Saturday was Sarann’s birthday shindig which involved us going to Bourbon and then a series of other bars and restaurants in search of somewhere that wasn’t totally packed. Vain hope I know for Saturday night but it’s all about keeping the hope alive. We didn’t find it though and so ended up going home at 12ish as most people were too tired to brave Creation.
Then yesterday was our “students have finally gone home we can move in Bondi again” night. It kicked off with a meal at L’Oranise which was quite nice and then (after much insistance that it was important we went given flights and plans were scheduled months ago to allow us to go) we headed to Bondi via cake at Sarann’s. I didn’t have a brill time there but we ended up coming back to mine to eat the recently purchased fast food where I had a really good talk with Sarann and she introduced me to the joy of hurting people (or Taekwondo as she calls it) which was awesome.
Finally today I slept. I got to bed at like 3-4ish and slept until 10 when I got up to borrow some DVDs off Michelle before she left and then went back to bed and slept again till 3-4ish. The best part is I can continue to sleep until Saturday :D. It’s been literally months since I’ve had more than one consecutive day off so I intend to take full advantage of it.

Went to see the Lostprophets last night after Phil kindly volunteered his ticket after I was unable to obtain one myself. It was a good gig, Graham seems to disapprove of my comment that the lighting effects and technical aspect of the show were very impressive but well, they were.
The band rocked too. Although they didn’t really have flow – they seemed to just stop in between songs and occasionally strum their guitar in a quick effort to tune it or something. That said frontman Ian did his best to try and get the audience going.
We were towards the back so as usual most of the show involved me screaming my lungs out while everyone around me just stud and watched but that’s there loss :p. Plus B did her share of singing and everyone got going by the end so it’s all good. And importantly I got a t-shirt which is very important given I’ve totally run out of clean ones.

And Sarann said “what about, breakfast at Mac-ey D’s?”
I said “I think that, everything comes burger shaped”
So there we were. Sat round in DEC-10 having pulled an all-nighter on coursework. So it seems like a good idea to go to the D for breakfast. After all it was somewhat pre-planned. Last time we were walking home from town myself and Sarann discussed the idea of doing an all-nighter than going to McDonald’s for breakfast.
Si was a breakfast virgin and went for the quite solid choice of Bacon and Egg McMuffin as did Sarann. I went for the McBacon Roll. I feel it’s a classic. It’s weird how many coursework deadlines end there. I mean, me, George and Si went down after we did the first SE20 coursework and me and Sarann went down after doing the AI21 coursework. It’s quickly developing into somewhat of a tradition.
