Headed down to the Cuthbert Brodrick this afternoon for Sunday lunch. George, Norm and Lil also joined me in some kind of cartoon style intro (or perhaps the video to The Offspring’s “Why Don’t You Get a Job?”) in which I’m walking towards the pub and people peal in from the left and right to join the procession. Pure coincidence we all arrived at the same time or yet more evidence my life is a real life Truman Show?

In any case we arrived to find that steak was on offer, so that took care of that decision!

A-Soc social rolled around on Tuesday though despite it being steak night the Cuthbert Brodrick had, somehow, managed to run out of rump and sirloin steak! Luckily we were all ordering mixed grills so it worked out alright in the end.

What followed was a night of long debate and drinking – Rich getting through two bottles of wine by himself! Probably suggested to him by Kate who then proceeded to try and molest him.

Tuesday night saw the second A-Soc summer social since the move to Cuthbert Brodrick. It was a fine move indeed with it being steak night! So having enjoyed a variety of steaks (including a mixed grill for myself) we settled in with some drinks and chatted the night away like old times. Apparently some people were intoxicated but I can’t say I noticed.

It may have been a little late but Si’s official birthday party finally took place on Monday night.

We met up in The Deer Park for a steak dinner which was rather good, especially once we got on to dessert though I fear it may be my last steak for a while as I really need to cut down on my spending (the drugs and the hookers are really starting to add up).

Si also turned up in the end which was quite a nice addition. Good times.
