Trick or treat!
Trick or treat!
Trick or treat!
For our Halloween party this year I carved up some pumpkins. They all looked very happy.
Halloween couples costumes. Many of these are just down-right scary. Which makes a change from the usual set of costumes you get on eBay for women: sexy police officer, sexy fire fighter, sexy horse, sexy donut, etc, etc.
Last week, we hosted a house party for Atheist Society as part of the traditional way the society parties through the festival.
On Saturday we headed over to Kate’s party for a Halloween celebration (I saw Halloween celebration rather than Halloween because Halloween is of course actually on today).
We decided pretty early on it was the worst party ever. We all drank quite a bit so I’m not quite sure what the reasons were but I know we made that decision. Once you accept this though it somewhat lowers the expectations so you can only really go up from there, so in the end it made a half decent recovery.
The company was on the whole good as it was mostly the A-Soc crowd though Nicola’s had some interesting friends. Sometimes, running in the circles you do, you forget that there are a lot of stupid people in the world. Like really stupid people. Embarrassingly stupid. Myself and James had to spend a lot of time desperately trying to hold ourselves back from calling them in an angry manner on the stream of nonsense they asserted; it was like being trapped in a conversation with Storm from the so-named Tim Minchin song.
Still, we made it until the end of the party and so can walk away with a knowledge that we can still keep up with the kids and some highly amusing anecdotes that while I have no plans to share on such a public forum will be happy to elaborate on next time we’re down the pub.
Saturday saw Atheist Society’s legendary (as if any of our events aren’t 😀 ) Halloween party, hosted by our el presidente Sophie. It was a great night which ended in us performing a Satanic ritual which seems a bit on the edge but is really quite mild compared to the fact that Zoltan was dressed as the prophet Muhammad 😀 .
Having packed everyone into cars for the post One Life festivities we headed over to West Park Place for a Halloween party.
With the decks and sound system out we blasted our music until the early hours and I like to think everyone had fun. Things kept going until about 4:30 when the last of the festivities came to a close. Good times.
I was slightly worried about turnout initially given we had a whole eight people confirmed on Facebook, compared to the 54 that Nicola had confirmed to her house party. We ended up having well over 20 of us there though which is apparently about inline with the turnout to Nicola’s party so maybe we’re not that unpopular after all.
