The long awaited new menu
Sunday lunch with Dr. P
Sunday saw us hit Cuthbert Brodrick as usual for lunch but with one important change – George finally having been paid he could actually afford to eat this time! We also saw a guest appearance from Rich as well so it was a rather good afternoon.
Unfortunately due to a series of iritating events it took them an hour to get me a dessert, which resulted in me being quite late for the A-Soc picnic. They had a new lass working behind the bar who took 20 minutes to serve us and once we had done they lost my dessert and had to make it again!

The Sunday lunch that almost never was
Sunday saw John arrived in Leeds – so it became a race against time to get him moved in, in time to get to Sunday lunch.
It was a race that I lost. But never the less eventually made it down eventually to enjoy our traditional Sunday Wetherspoon’s feast. I say feast, I went for value meal to cut down on spending, but it was still very much enjoyable.

Ill
Day two was Tueday and I was still feeling crap but decided to push ahead with my plan of trying to drink through it. After all, with it being an A-Soc social night it’s pretty much my job. I wasn’t even taking it easy and with it being the last day of the wine festival, when Graham tried to order a glass of wine he came away with the bottle.
On the negative side it didn’t make me much better. But the on plus side it didn’t make me any worse – I work up Wednesday morning feeling rough but with no signs of a hangover so I once again seem to have managed to stop drinking at the appropriate time and get enough water in me.
Wednesday night I finally gave up – relucantly cancelled on York Brights and headed to bed which I was in before 6pm.

Till the steak runs dry
Last night saw the usual weekly A-Soc summer social at the Cuthbert Brodrick for much steak and drinking. As ever a good time was bad by all, except Rich, who we managed to drive crazy with talk about the logo. On the plus side however, Kate and Steven are now “official” according to Rich.
Interestingly Sophie couldn’t make it and Paul cancelled on us at the last minute leading us to the conclusion that Paul is actually in control of, and indeed has been in control of, the society all along through his puppets, myself, Norm and now Sophie. We always suspected, but never guessed…

Sunday steak

All for the love of steak
Tuesday night was the usual A-Soc social though attendance was a bit slow to pick up – it starts at 7pm and people actually waited until then to turn up. So myself and Tom having got there at 6:20 because I expected people to already be there by then had a bit of a wait for company. It did however provide a rather nice gap for us to sink a few first.
Reassuringly, Paul put in an appearance having been missing for the previous few weeks so it was good to see him again. And, as ever, the steak was very nice.

Sunday club
Headed down to the Cuthbert Brodrick this afternoon for Sunday lunch. George, Norm and Lil also joined me in some kind of cartoon style intro (or perhaps the video to The Offspring’s “Why Don’t You Get a Job?”) in which I’m walking towards the pub and people peal in from the left and right to join the procession. Pure coincidence we all arrived at the same time or yet more evidence my life is a real life Truman Show?
In any case we arrived to find that steak was on offer, so that took care of that decision!

Crazy Tuesdays
Thursday, August 27th, 2009 | Humanism
We started off Tuesday with a committee meeting which didn’t go too tell as it was noiser than we had anticipiated in the pub. We also had far more to talk about than we could possibly fit into one meeting and we had several non-committee members in attendance who had shown up also so it didn’t make for the most productive meeting.
The rest of the night went well though with much eating of stake and drinking of alcohol as should be expected from our Tuesday nights these days.

Cultural Sundays
Following on from our previous Sundays at Leeds Museum and the Royal Armouries we met up for our usual Sunday lunch today.
I saw we met up for it, I had Sunday lunch, Kate and George had drinks because they had no money and prioritised alcohol over food. Kate assures me this is the choice anyone would make if they had her job though 😀 . Though to be fair if you’re drinking Guinness (not that she was) you probably don’t need food after all.
Afterwards, we headed down to the Leeds City Art Museum and took a look round the first gallery which was reasonably interesting, if only from the perspective of the inequalities in the pricing of works of art. Rubbishly, they don’t allow photos in the galleries, however.
