Morning sky

One of the few benefits of my recently drastically extended commute to work is getting to enjoy the morning sky.

More Finland photos
Back in September I wrote about our trip to Finland and Finland wedding. A lot of the photos I posted were my own though, which meant I missed some of the group shots and wedding photos that I was on the other side of the lens for.
My parents were good enough to send me their photos though, so we’ve now got some photos of the two of us.

Christmas lights

This is a photo of workmen putting up Christmas lights. I took this photo a month ago! In September! The Sky internal quiz a few days later was “have you started your Christmas shopping yet?” Apparently 26% of people had. Who has time when there are Halloween costumes to work out?

Water taxi

In an attempt to get people using Leeds Dock, they are now running a free water taxi from just outside the Armouries to just below the station. Nobody is actually using it yet so we had the boat to ourselves.

I am normally pretty disappointed with the camera in my iPhone. However, some results are not too bad.

Raspberry trifle
Cookbooks often come with chapters on breakfasts, desserts and sides. I usually ignore them. Not on purpose, but I usually work through the recipes for dinners, so they just do not get scheduled. For lunch, I’m normally eating whatever I cooked last night.
To correct this, I’m making an effort to try a few other recipes. Such as this raspberry trifle.

They may not look quite the same as Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall’s, but they did taste good.

Engagement shoot
Friday, September 11th, 2015 | Family & Parenting, Photos
In August we did an engagement shoot, which apparently is a thing now. It was a good chance to get to know our photographer, Dan, droll over his camera gear a bit, and get some practice at posing for non-posed photographs. We’re also using the photos as part of our UK wedding so keep an eye out!
It was a lot of fun. I felt like a celebrity as we were guided round Temple Newsam while a giant camera lens was pointed at us.

Hayfield

Earlier this month we visited Hayfield for a weekend of catching up, relaxing and enjoying the British summer, such as it is.
