Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides film review
Saturday, February 17th, 2007 | Reviews
The plot: Jack turns up in London where he discovers that an imposter is pretending to be him and recruiting and ship and crew to go find the Fountain of Youth. The problem is, that the English and the Spanish are racing there too.
The good: Riding on the Pirates of the Caribbean legacy makes for a reasonably good film to watch, on its own.
The bad: It felt like a parody of itself. Being in London, running round the king’s court, it almost felt like some kind of slapstick Carry On film. It runs the fantasy.
Conclusion: A disappointing fourth film in the series. How exactly is it “in the Caribbean” when they spend so much of the film in London?
