Perhaps I don’t have much room to talk, but you should really proof anything you publish as mistakes such as this don’t exactly do much for your advertisements.
After doing some good for the community we decided to head to The Original Oak to do some good for ourselves – by taking advantage of grill night. While you were never going to get an amazing mixed grill for £6 including a drink it was never the less more than enough to fill me and indeed very good food given the price.
Today saw HAG expand in a new direction as we headed out to remove some of the graffiti in Hyde Park. It turned out to be really succesful, snowballing when a bunch of random kids from the block turned up and decided to help out – crazy times!
Despite flagging turn outs to recent Tuesday night summer socials, we ended up getting around a dozen people down to The Library tonight, possibly given more life by the recent camping trip but hopefully something that will continue throughout summer.

On getting back to Ingleton after the waterfall trail on Saturday we found ourselves in the middle of a 1940’s wartime recreation with everyone walking round in army uniforms or civilian period costumes.
Apparently the whole town gets involved – we wandered into a pub with lots of British flags and bunting lining it which I just presumed was a BNP rally but apparently that was part of the “recreation” too.
Myself and Lil debated at some length whether we were dead Silent Hill style or whether we had travelled back in time, or indeed even just accidentally wandered onto a holodeck. Namely because the 1940’s day had clearly been going on for some time and apparently wasn’t finishing that day either (it was all still there when we went past on the Sunday too).
A few months ago I finally got round to buying digital photography for dummies to give me a quick grounding on the basics of all the various settings that my camera has. I haven’t had a great deal of time to play with them but last weekend provided me with a few opportunities such as playing around with the exposure time while snapping the various waterfalls.
Last weekend saw Atheist Society’s annual summer camping weekend, this week hosted by Dalesbridge at the far end of the Yorkshire Dales near Austwick and Ingleton.
Despite it throwing it down with rain for days beforehand the sun came out once we got there and beyond the odd shower it was generally good weather which made for an excellent time all around.
It was a mix of walking and drinking which is what you want on any camping holiday. There is something brilliant about starting the day at 8:30am with a bacon sandwich and a beer.
In between drinking on the site and checking out the local pubs we also made it round the waterfall trail, white scar caves and even a rather large mountain climb all the way up to the base of Penyghent 😉 .
Myself and Zoltan had an appointment at HSBC today to get our community bank account up and running. It was rapidly turning into the AHS dragging on and on with them never getting in touch with me except for a torrent of letters saying they were trying to get in touch with me but couldn’t (I got them to check my contact details – they have them correct).
Anyway we went down to the branch today, Zoltan was late of course, and got it sorted there with amazing ease – we were in and out in 10-15 minutes and the account is now open!
As such I thought I would mention a positive experience I have had with dealing with a bank, especially given they are becoming even more rare these days (as if that were possible 😉 ).
