Being a user of the Nokia N95 - got the original 1GB, but have since upgraded to the 8GB card - I have to say that CNet swung me and let me down slightly. Proper use of the phone, ie unfettered use of all the features gets about 2 days life out of the battery, but I have stretched it to 4 days by obnly using it as a phone, lol.

As for the features you mention - wifi is good, GPS is horrendous as it really only works when you are walking in the middle of a desert in terms of reception and the maps are so slow to download that you have walked out of the map area before it has finished downloading! The route finder function of the GPS tho is pretty damned awesome!

The lens cover also opens when you take it out of your pocket, but you can switch off the auto0on function so it doeant make quite lead to the annoying death of battery as other lens covers.

I've not had issues with the firmware, it is miles faster than any other Nokia I have owned and far far far more reliable. Its a good compromise between phone and PDA but it excels at neither. If you want a phone then get a phone!! The Samsungs and Motorolas are the way forward in that department.

On a more on topic note; you trust CNet? Do a little digging with regards to CNet, Gamespot, Jeff Gerstmann and a certain Kane & Lynch review.

Apparently that phone has some of the slowest firmware going; menus lag and everything. I've been told to avoid it like the plague.
